Open Call: Medical Technology in Healthcare
The first call for applications for funding from the Swedish innovation program Medtech4Health, Medical Technology in Health Care, is open. The call is aimed at collaborative and innovative projects in Medical Technology.
Who can apply?
The project should be a collaboration between at least two separate partners, for example a Swedish university, a private company, a healthcare institution, a research institute or other relevant partner. An individual may not apply in more than one capactiy. (In other words, an academic who has started a company must choose whether to apply as an academic partner or as a business partner.)
The project
The call for funding is open for innovative projects in Medical Technology. Projects may seek funding to develop a product, a service or a process that solves a clinical problem in a new way. The potential benefits to patients, healthcare or society in general are important. Projects will also be evaluated as regards their commercial potential.
How much?
The total budget for this call for applications is SEK 20 million. This will be divided between approximately 15 projects. Projects may seek funding of up 50% of the project’s total cost.
Important dates
The deadline for applications is 1 April at 2 pm Swedish time (UTC + 1h). Interviews are planned to take place 10-12 May. The successful projects will be announced no later than early June and the projects themselves will be expected to start no later than 1 Sep 2016.
Please note that projects applying for funding in this call may not also apply for funding under SWELife’s Collaborative innovation projects in the field of widespread diseases 2016-2017.

En ökad användning av smarta medicintekniska lösningar kan göra vård i hemmet till ett strategiskt verktyg för att möta framtidens vårdbehov.
