Innovation Engines

The Innovation Engines are a part of Medtech4Health’s work to increase the speed of development in healthcare. The idea is that healthcare itself should function as a motor for the development of innovative care – to the benefit of patients and a competitive medical technical sector.

Our first Innovation Engine was Västerbotten County Council’s Innovation Clinics project. The Innovation Clinics are to be a cutting edge for the systematic testing and implementation of new technologies and new work practices.

To support the Innovation Engines Medtech4Health has budgeted SEK 10 million in 2017 and 2018 as well as a further SEK 6 million each year for 2019 and 2020. The project leader is Lena Svendsen who is employed by Swedish Medtech.
