We have an outstanding winner of this year’s price Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2019, the rPAP technology helping premature babies.

Side by side to other activities within Medtech Week the Strategic Innovation Programme Medtech4Health in Sweden announces the three finalists in the appreciated competition Medtech4Health Innovation Award. And of course, the winner among those will be highlighted – right now. The contributions are presented in three digital small seminars. Last out is the winner among the contributors – winner of glory and price money SEK 100.000:-.

Physicians Thomas Drevhammar, Kjell Nilsson, Snorri Donaldsson and Baldvin Jonsson have developed and tested a new medical device for premature babies. This respiratory aid called rPAP can in many cases replace respiratory care – a treatment that can cause chronic lung damage. The new, non-invasive, method helps these sensitive infants to start their own breathing.

Medtech4Health supports medical technology development

The Östersund based Anaesthesiology and Intensive care unit (Östersund Hospital, Regional Council of Jämtland and Härjedalen) together with the Stockholm based Neonatal clinic (Karolinska University Hospital, Region Stockholm) won attention from Medtech4Health’s calls for nomination in the competition Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2019. The progress of their nomination to become the winner greated them this film to explain and spread the information of their innovation together with the price money stated above.
