Medtech Week 2019: Decision support CDS AF for the treatment of atrial fibrillation – part in the competition Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2019

Related to other activities within MedTech Week 2019 the Strategic Innovation Programme Medtech4Health in Sweden separately announces the three finalists in the appreciated competition Medtech4Health Innovation Award. And of course, the winner among those will be highlighted. The contributions are presented in three digital small seminars. First served is one of the contributors sharing second place:

Physicians Magnus Janzon and Lars Karlsson have, together with colleagues and developers from a medical record company (Cambio Healthcare Systems), developed and evaluated a decision support, CDS AF, for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. The decision support makes it easier for physicians to determine if blood thinning treatment should be prescribed to patients with risk factors for stroke. A large study made on the decision support showed a significant increase of patients that came in treatment.

The Linköping based Cardiological clinic (University Hospital in Linkoping, Regional Council of Östergötland) won attention from Medtech4Health’s calls for nomination in the competition Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2019. The progress of their nomination to become finalist greated them this film to explain and spread the information of their innovation.
