The Athena Prize also awarded to our 2019 Innovation Award winners – Congratulations!
Every year Medtech4Health presents our Innovation Award to a deserving winner. The Medtech4Health Innovation Award is worth SEK 100,000. It is intended to highlight good examples of projects in which health sevices, in active participation with academia and business, develop and introduce new technology leading to significant improvements in healthcare and helping new medical technology reach the market.
Last year’s winners were doctors Thomas Drevhammar, Kjell Nilsson, Snorri Donaldsson and Baldvin Jonsson at the Anesthesia and IVA unit at Östersund Hospital, and the Neonatology unit at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. They developed and tested a new breathing aid that helps premature babies.
Now their efforts have been further rewarded in the form of the Athena Prize, which is awarded by Vinnova and Dagens Medicin together with LIF, the Swedish Research Council, Forte, Swedish Medtech and Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions. Medtech4Health sends many congratulations to the winners!
