”Well-Run Programme That Has Driven Significant Progress”
The report from the nine-year evaluation of Medtech4Health, spanning an entire year, is finally out. The evaluation highlights a well-managed programme that has made substantial progress since its inception.
In particular, it underscores how the programme has fostered medical technology innovation, established vital networks that have significantly enhanced skills transfer, and resulted in the development of products that have reached the market, delivering tangible patient benefits.
“We are very pleased that the evaluation acknowledges our long-term efforts to advance more innovative and precise medical technology solutions to address the challenges of future healthcare and enhance Sweden’s competitiveness,” says Lena Strömberg, Programme Director of Medtech4Health.
“A big thank you to everyone involved in the programme and all those who have contributed to our 450 projects to date—it is your collective efforts that drive the programme’s results. A special thanks to those who provided perspectives, comments, and feedback during the evaluation.”
The evaluation demonstrates that Medtech4Health has brought increased visibility and recognition to the medical technology sector, strengthened the innovation ecosystem, accelerated the innovation process for many companies, and encouraged collaboration across stakeholder boundaries. The programme has enhanced innovation capacity in healthcare and created better opportunities for cooperation between companies, academia, and public-sector actors.
“The evaluation clearly highlights the pivotal role Medtech4Health has played in bringing more innovative medical technology solutions to the healthcare sector. I am particularly pleased that it recognises our emphasis on implementation and the long-term results it will yield,” says Anna Lefevre Skjöldebrand, Chair of Medtech4Health.
