Swedish medical technology highlighted at this year’s BIOEurope
Three packed days filled with rewarding and inspiring meetings. This is the result after this year’s BIOEurope in Stockholm.
“During BIOEurope, we reached everyone from investors to international companies with the innovative development of the Swedish medical technology sector. It is important that we take every opportunity to communicate our strong competitiveness in the international arena,” says Lena Strömberg, Programme Director of Medtech4Health.
Vinnova recently released its annual survey of the Swedish life science sector, which clearly shows that medical technology is the largest sector in terms of the number of companies. The report also shows clear growth and a strong increase in exports.
“Vinnova’s survey gives us further reasons to spread the word internationally about the benefits and successes of Swedish medical technology to strengthen this position even more.”
Focus on medical technology
This year, BIOEurope also had more focus on medical technology than usual, which was emphasised by Ebba Busch, Minister for Energy, Business and Industry , in her opening speech at the Swedish stand.
“The Minister emphasised the importance of a holistic approach to the development of future medical technology. Medtech4Health also shared a stand with a number of partners where together we were able to present a broad picture of the entire Swedish life science sector,” says Lena Strömberg.
