Propose an AIDA Clinical Evaluation
Do you want to test if an AI product can deliver on its promises for your clinical needs? If so, you are most welcome to apply for funding from AIDA for a Clinical Evaluation.
It can be difficult for healthcare providers to get a grip on whether the AI solutions available on the market can make a real difference in their workflows. AIDA’s project type Clinical Evaluation aims to assist care providers in crossing that threshold. The offering includes up to 50% funding of costs and access to a unique “arena” with knowledge exchanges and a technical platform. As inspiration you can read about previous projects here.
There is now an open proposal round for Clinical evaluations with deadline November 12, 2024.
Complete information about the prerequisites is found in the following document: Opportunity for Clinical evaluations. In summary, the opportunity means the following:
- The project is to be about evaluation of a commercially available AI solution relevant for diagnostic imaging operations
- The AIDA funding can cover at most 50% of the project cost, and amount to 150 kSEK or less
- The project can, thus, have a cost budget of 300 kSEK of which 150 kSEK is funded by AIDA, or a cost budget of 200 kSEK of which 100 kSEK is funded by AIDA etc.
- No part of the AIDA funds can be used to reimburse the product vendor, and efforts from the vendor is not to be included in the cost budget
- There is a possiblity for an Innovation check of 50 kSEK to be used for external AI competence from, e.g., consultants (but not used for the vendor in question)
- The project must start at the latest three months from the application deadline, and end at the latest December 31, 2025.
- Some presence at the meeting place (often CMIV, Linköping) is required, at AIDA’s workshop series
- Clinical Evaluation projects can be combined with Clinical Fellowships
Proposals should be described using the following template: Template AIDA clinical evaluation project proposal. Proposals are submitted to the Arena Director at aida-director@medtech4health.se. We strongly recommend that a draft is sent well in advance of the deadline in order to allow a dialog about the proposal.
