The EIT Health Accelerator Programmes

The EIT Health Accelerator is open to applications from all entrepreneurs, start-ups, scaleups, and SME’s throughout Europe. The programmes offers for example innovation training, Bootcamps, validation of products and services, understanding of regulatory and reimbursement schemes, as well as access to market experts.

Vinnova/EU – Eurostars

Grant of SME of up to 5 MSEK, covering max 50% of SMEs project cost and max 70% of Universities costs.

  • Eligible for: SME, University, Research Institute colaboration between minimum two Eurostar Countries.
  • Activities: product development, product to reach market in two years, clinical trials and certification
  • Project duration: max 3 years

The SMEs net sales (nettoomsättning) or equity should be at least half of the grant applied for.

Vinnova German-Swedish Collaboration

  • Sw SME applies to Vinnova; German SME applies to ZIM
  • Swedish grant: max 3 MSEK (50% of SME costs, 100% for University
  • Supports “Industrial research” or “Experimental development”
  • Sw SME and university; German SME and university
  • One party NOT more than 70% of man-months of project
  • Sw SME applies to Vinnova; German SME applies to ZIM
  • Swedish grant: max 3 MSEK (50% of SME costs, 100% for University

Activities can include: Research and development, first prorotype, demonstration, pilot work or testing and validation
Activities should NOT include: recurrent changes, entering new markets, marketing, sales, quality processes, certification (CE-marking or other)

European Innovation Commission EIC Accelerator Pilot

Develop your business concept further into a market-ready product – last push before scaling-up phase.

Grant Only: Grant (EUR 0,5M-2,5M) – 70% of total project cost

  • Activities could include: prototyping, miniaturisation, scaling-up, design, performance verification, testing, demonstration, development of pilot lines, validation for market replication, including other activities aimed at bringing innovation to investment readiness and maturity for market take-up.

Blended Finance: Grant (EUR 0,5M-2,5M) + Equity Funding (up to EUR 15M)

Blended Finance combines grant and equity for SMEs who also need extra support for commercialisation activities.
Activities could include product/ service development, trials, prototyping, validation, demonstration and testing in real-world conditions, as well as market replication and commercialisation activities.

  • Project duration: 1-2 years
  • Deadlines: May 19, October 7
  • Succes rate: 10%

H2020 Fast Track to Innovation – FTI

The maximum EU contribution per action is €3 million (funding rate: 70% for for-profit entities; 100% for not-for-profit entities).

Actions undertaking innovation from the demonstration stage through to market uptake, including activities such as piloting, test-beds, systems validation in real-world working conditions, validation of business models, pre-normative research, and standard-setting

Proposals for funding must be submitted by consortia comprising between three and five legal entities established in at least three different EU Member States or countries associated to Horizon 2020.  Within each consortium there must either be an allocation of at least 60% of the budget to industry participants or the consortium must include a minimum of two industry participants in a consortium of three or four partners, or three industry participants in a consortium of five partners.

  • Deadlines: 19 February,  09 June, 27 October
