Mindmore digitises cognitive tests – Healthcare can now help more than twice as many patients

Mindmore has developed a digital tool that measures cognitive function and makes cognitive tests more comparable. The cost per test has been reduced by around SEK 1,700, and in Stockholm alone, clinics can save up to SEK 22 million per year.

Traditional cognitive tests have long been time-consuming and difficult to compare, making it challenging for healthcare providers to obtain an accurate picture of a patient’s brain health. Mindmore has digitised the tests and at the same time made them standardised and objective, providing healthcare providers with a better basis for decision-making. ‘We wanted to create a tool that makes it easy and reliable to measure brain health. This also allows us to detect changes at an early stage,’ explains Frida Strömgren, Chief Customer Officer at Mindmore.

Today, Mindmore’s solution is used in over 100 clinics in Scandinavia, and the effects have been significant. Clinics can now see more than twice as many patients with the same resources, while the cost per test has been reduced by around SEK 1,700. In Stockholm alone, this has resulted in savings of up to SEK 22 million per year.

For patients, Mindmore’s tool means shorter waiting times and more equal care, as the results are compared against a comprehensive database of demographic information. This means that everyone is assessed on the same terms, regardless of where they are examined. At the same time, healthcare staff benefit from a more efficient work process and the opportunity to monitor patients’ progress more continuously. ‘This gives healthcare providers completely new opportunities to monitor brain health over time,’ says Frida Strömgren.

Innovation Award highlighted the importance of brain health
When Mindmore was named the winner of the Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2024, it marked an important step in the company’s development. The award raised awareness of an issue that is often overlooked – mental illness and cognitive impairment. ‘The award has made more people aware of the importance of brain health,’ says Frida Strömgren.

The focus going forward remains on strengthening implementation in Sweden, while interest is growing internationally from various players in Asia, the United States and Europe. In the longer term, the company therefore sees great potential to establish itself globally and contribute to better brain health for more people. ‘We see that our solution can make a real difference, both in Sweden and internationally,’ says Frida Strömgren.

‘The support from Medtech4Health has meant a lot to our journey. It has put the regulatory framework in place and at the same time given us visibility, networks and taken us one step closer to broader implementation in healthcare,’ explains Frida Strömgren.
