Describe your company
Suturion is focused on revolutionising abdominal wall closure through innovative surgical technology designed to improve precision, efficiency and patient outcomes.
Describe your product/solution
SutureTOOL is a medical device developed to transform abdominal wall closure by simplifying and improving fascia suturing.
The device streamlines the closure process, supporting greater consistency, efficiency and safety during surgery. SutureTOOL also enables surgeons to more easily apply the recommended “small-bites” technique, helping align surgical practice with established clinical guidelines.
What problem are you addressing?
Suturion addresses the challenge that many surgeons face in consistently applying the recommended small-bites technique when closing the abdominal wall following open surgery.
Failure to follow these guidelines can increase the risk of complications such as surgical site infections and burst abdomen.
What impact does your solution create?
By using SutureTOOL, surgeons may reduce surgical site infections by up to 50% and reduce the incidence of burst abdomen by up to 40%.
The solution also has the potential to reduce closure time by more than 50%, contributing to greater operating-room efficiency.
In addition, SutureTOOL improves safety for surgeons by reducing the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries compared to traditional needle drivers.
What stage of commercialisation are you currently in?
Suturion is currently in the early market stage.
What are you currently seeking to take the next step?
The company is currently seeking funding, clinical collaborations and strategic partnerships to support continued development and market expansion.
What market potential do you see for your solution?
Approximately 30 million patients undergo open abdominal surgery each year globally. Suturion estimates that its technology could address around 10 million of these procedures annually.
