Medtech Year 2026 – Ten Years of Societal Impact in Medical Technology

As Medtech4Health celebrates its ten-year anniversary, we are launching Medtech Year 2026 – a full year of regional events, knowledge-sharing, inspiration, and optimism for the future of Swedish medical technology.

Since 2015, Medtech4Health has supported more than 450 projects that have taken medical technology innovations from idea to clinical use. Together, we have built a strong ecosystem that makes Sweden a leading nation in medical technology.

Now, as the program marks ten years, we are doing so through the Medtech Year 2026 campaign – an initiative that highlights the tangible results and collaboration that have shaped the Swedish medical technology sector.

“Medtech Year is about showcasing the strength of Swedish medical technology and how innovation, research, and collaboration lead to real benefits in healthcare,” says Lena Strömberg, Program Director of Medtech4Health.

During Medtech Year 2026, all seven of Sweden’s healthcare regions – which also serve as nodes within Medtech4Health – will organize their own events focused on medical technology and its impact on the future of healthcare. Topics will include procurement and reimbursement models, resilience, innovation leadership and needs identification, financing and investments, skills supply, increased knowledge of medical technology in healthcare, and implementation. The aim is to bring together the entire Swedish medical technology ecosystem – from researchers and companies to healthcare professionals and decision-makers – and to show what we can achieve together.
